ABS Awards Industry’s First AIP for Deep-Sea Mining Vessel to CMI
 
In an industry first, ABS has awarded China Merchants Industry (CMI) Approval in Principle (AIP) for its deep-sea mining system design.

The AIP follows publication of the ABS Guide for Subsea Mining in October 2020 and is the first to be issued that conforms to the new Guide.

Maersk Wins Two Deepwater Drilling Contracts in Suriname from Total
 
Danish offshore drilling rig operator Maersk Drilling has received a contract from French oil major Total to supply two deepwater rigs in Suriname. The two semi-submersible rigs, named Mærsk Developer and Maersk Valiant, will be used for an exploration and appraisal project in Block 58 offshore Suriname.

Wärtsilä to Provide Technical and Remote Support for Eight Teekay Shipping LNG Carriers
 
The technology group Wärtsilä has signed LNG Support Agreements for eight LNG Carrier vessels owned by Teekay Gas, a part of the global Teekay Group. The two agreements, each for four vessels, were signed in August and September of this year.

TEN Ltd. Reports Successful Delivery of Four-Vessel Series With Long-Term Employment to Oil Major
 
TEN, Ltd. (TEN) (NYSE: TNP) on Wednesday (Nov18) reported the delivery of the last vessel in a four-series newbuilding program, consisting of two Suezmaxes and two Aframaxes in South Korea, with five-year contracts to an oil major.
