Green Marine’s 11th annual conference in in Vancouver, Canada, will tackle issues directly related to its environmental certification’s performance indicators.
GreenTech 2018 will also focus on emerging issues including advanced technologies for low carbon transportation, aquatic invasive species (biofouling), public engagement and information sharing, sustainable development and underwater noise and marine mammals.
Best practice
The main aim of the GreenTech conference is to gather together everyone with an interest in improving maritime transportation’s environmental performance.
As with previous years, there will be expert knowledge, actual experience and best practices shared, along with detailed information about innovative sustainability initiatives and great networking opportunities.
Conference delegates from the marine industry include shipping companies, port authorities, terminal operators, environmental groups, research institutes and government agencies.
Green Marine is an environmental certification programme for the North American marine industry. It is a voluntary initiative that addresses key environmental issues through its 12 performance indicators. Participants are shipowners, ports, terminals, Seaway corporations and shipyards.
Over the years, the Green Marine conference has earned an enviable reputation for showcasing the latest sustainability technology and innovation for the marine industry.
